In match 41 of the ongoing Indian Premier League (IPL) 2022, Delhi Capitals (DC) comfortably defeated Kolkata Knight Riders (KKR) by four wickets at Mumbai’s Wankhede Stadium on Thursday.

Chasing the paltry target of 150, DC lost two wickets for just 17 runs inside the first two overs. Before KKR could cruise further, David Warner and Lalit Yadav partnered to get the Capitals out of hot waters.

The pair added 65 runs for the third wicket before DC lost three wickets in quick successions in the form of Warner (42), Lalit (22), and Rishabh Pant (2) to get reduced to 84/5 in 11.1 overs. But the low total could not put enough pressure as Rovman Powell (33 not out) and Axar Patel (24) helped DC chase down the target with one over to spare and four wickets in hand.

Earlier, Nitish Rana and Shreyas Iyer made valuable contributions to help KKR post a respectable total after early shakeups. Iyer smashed 42 off 37 balls before Kuldeep Yadav dismissed him.

Similarly, Nitish roared back in the form, hammering a crucial half-century to take KKR to 149/6 in their allotted 20 overs. The left-handed batter scored 57 runs from 34 deliveries, including three fours and four sixes.

Kuldeep shined with the ball for the Capitals, taking a brilliant four-wicket haul for just 14 runs in three overs. Apart from the left-arm spinner, Mustafizur Rahman bagged three scalps while giving away 18 runs in his quota of 4 overs.
