Virat Kohli lost his cool during an IPL clash against the Mumbai Indians (MI) on Saturday as the former Royal Challengers Bangalore (RCB) skipper was given out LBW at a score of 48.

It all happened in the 19th over of the second innings. Dewald Brevis, delivering his first ball in IPL 2022, lured Kohli into playing a forward defence which hit his pad. A huge appeal was made by MI fielders for an LBW and umpire Virender Sharma too gave it out without a second thought in his mind.

Kohli used the DRS but the UltraEdge confirmed that there was no contact between bat and ball while ball-tracking showed 3 reds. The replays, however, looked confusing as they showed a clear deviation from the bat and Kohli too believed the same. While walking back to the dugout, he smashed his bat on the ground in agony as he missed out on his maiden half-century of the season.

Kohli’s dismissal hardly had any impact on RCB’s run chase. Aussie all-rounder Glenn Maxwell walked in next and smacked back to back boundaries to take his team over the finish line. With a 7-wicket win over MI, the Challengers have moved to the third position in the points table, dethroning Lucknow Super Giants (LSG).
