After the completion of the league phase in the ongoing Indian Premier League (IPL) 2022, four teams are set to battle it out in the playoffs. The top two teams – Gujarat Titans (GT) and Rajasthan Royals (RR) – will start the playoffs with Qualifier 1 scheduled at the iconic Eden Gardens in Kolkata on Tuesday, May 24.
Both teams will be eying for a victory in order to book a place in the finals directly. However, the losing side won’t be knocked out as they will get another opportunity to face the winner of the Eliminator to be played between Lucknow Super Giants (LSG) and Royal Challengers Bangalore (RCB).
In their previous meeting at Dr DY Patil Sports Academy in Mumbai on April 14, the Titans had defeated the Royals by 37 runs.
Pitch report:
The track at the Eden Gardens will be fresher with an ample amount of support to pacers, especially in the initial phase. Chasing sides have won three of the last five games at this venue. Keeping all these factors in mind, teams winning the toss might look to bowl first.
