Mumbai Indians (MI) captain Rohit Sharma is going through a rough phase in the ongoing Indian Premier League (IPL). He has scored just 155 runs in 9 matches so far.

The right-handed opener got out for two after facing five deliveries against Rajasthan Royals (RR) in Match 44 of IPL 2022, played at the DY Patil Stadium in Navi Mumbai on Saturday.

The moment RR off-spinner Ravichandran Ashwin dismissed Rohit, the cameraman panned onto Ritika Sajdeh, who was naturally disappointed, and Prithi Ashwin, on the other hand, was in jubilation. However, Prithi quickly went towards Ritika and consoled her. Prithi’s lovely gesture won the hearts of Indian fans, and the video of the same has been making the rounds on social media since then.

Talking about the match, MI won the toss and chose to bowl first. Sanju Samson’s RR got off to a terrible start as left-handed opening batter Devdutt Padikkal (15 off 15) departed early. Meanwhile, Jos Buttler continued his attack on MI bowlers. His 67-run knock came to an end in the 16th over after he struck four sixes off Hrithik Shokeen as the young lad got his redemption on the last ball.

Ashwin’s late flurry (21 off 9) helped RR post a fighting total of 158/6 in their stipulated overs. In reply, MI chased the set total in 19.2 overs with five wickets in hand. Suryakumar Yadav top-scored for his side with a 39-ball 51. Tilak Varma also chipped in with 35 runs from 30 deliveries.
