BCCI announces squads for India Women’s white-ball tour of Sri Lanka

The Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI), on Wednesday, announced the squads for India Women’s upcoming white-ball tour of Sri Lanka, starting June 23 in Dambulla. Both sides will lock horns in three T20 Internationals (T20Is) and as many One-Day internationals (ODIs).

After Mithali Raj’s retirement from international cricket, Harmanpreet Kaur, the T20I skipper, has been handed over the responsibilities to lead the ODI side as well.

Jhulan Goswami, the veteran fast bowler, couldn’t find a place in the two-squads alongside Sneh Rana. Instead, all-rounder Harleen Deol has been called up to the outfit.

When it comes to the T20I squad, top-order batter Jemimah Rodrigues has made her comeback, while left-arm orthodox bowler Radha Yadav was also recalled in the shortest format.

  • ODIs: Harmanpreet Kaur (Captain), Smriti Mandhana (VC), Shafali Verma, Yastika Bhatia (wk), S Meghana, Deepti Sharma, Poonam Yadav, Rajeshwari Gayakwad, Simran Bahadur, Richa Ghosh (wk), Pooja Vastrakar, Meghna Singh, Renuka Singh, Taniya Bhatia (wk), Harleen Deol.
  • T20Is: Harmanpreet Kaur (Captain), Smriti Mandhana (VC), Shafali Verma, Yastika Bhatia (wk), S Meghana, Deepti Sharma, Poonam Yadav, Rajeshwari Gayakwad, Simran Bahadur, Richa Ghosh (wk), Pooja Vastrakar, Meghna Singh, Renuka Singh, Jemimah Rodrigues, Radha Yadav.
