Former Australia spinner Brad Hogg is widely known for his sharp analysis regarding the latest happenings in the cricketing world. He, more often than not, rates team’s and players’ performances, whether in the international arena or domestic leagues. The 51-year-old has now picked the most valuable T20 cricketer in the world at present.

Hogg named Hardik Pandya as his choice, stating that right now, he doesn’t see anybody else better than Pandya in the shortest format. With lavishing praise on the Baroda-based cricketer, Hogg reckoned that Pandya could bat up the order depending on the team’s requirement and accelerate the run-flow down the order as well.

Further, the Western Australian also observed that Pandya should be the captain of Team India in T20Is. Hogg mentioned Pandya’s scintillating show in the recently-concluded Indian Premier League (IPL) 2022, where the 28-year-old led Gujarat Titans (GT) to title victory in their maiden season.

“Hardik Pandya should be captain of this T20 team in front of Rahul. He proved his worth in the IPL. He wants those tough moments when the team’s back is against the wall. He wants to go out there and deliver, whether it’s with a bat or ball,” said Hogg in a video on Instagram.

“The other night (1st T20I), he came in during those final overs and was able to find the boundary from ball one. Not too many people can do that. And he can go up and do the job at the top of the order if they lose early wickets as well. He is the most valuable T20 cricketer going around in world cricket right now,” Hogg added.
