England Pacer Emily Arlott has been ruled out of the upcoming one-off Test against South Africa Women due to the after-effects of COVID-19. Reportedly, Arlott is still getting over the virus and has left the camp to return home.

Uncapped speedster Issy Wong, who was named as the Travelling reserve by the England and Wales Cricket Board (ECB) while announcing the squad earlier this week, has replaced Arlott in the squad. It is expected that alongside Wong, fellow bowlers Freya Davies and Lauren Bell, batter Emma Lamb and all-rounder Alice Davidson-Richards could all make their Test debut against the Proteas.

Notably, the one-off Test between the two nations that starts from June 27 will be played at The Cooper Associates County Ground in Taunton. After the red-ball battle, England and South Africa will lock horns in the white-ball series, consisting of three One-Day Internationals (ODIs) and as many T20 Internationals (T20Is).

England Women squad (updated) for one-off Test against South Africa:

Heather Knight (captain), Tammy Beaumont, Lauren Bell, Kate Cross, Alice Davidson-Richards, Freya Davies, Charlie Dean, Sophia Dunkley, Sophie Ecclestone, Amy Jones, Emma Lamb, Nat Sciver (vice-captain), Issy Wong.
