Liam Livingstone’s power-hitting prowess was again on display in the recently-concluded Lancashire vs Derbyshire match in the North Group of the ongoing T20 Blast 2022 at Emirates Old Trafford in Manchester.

The right-handed batter, on Wednesday, took Derbyshire bowlers to the cleaners, hitting a jaw-dropping 75 from just 40 deliveries, with the help of 10 boundaries, including five massive sixes. One of the six smashed by Livingstone grabbed maximum eyeballs as the white leather landed on a construction site.

It all happened in the ninth over of Lancashire’s innings bowled by spinner Mark Watt. The left-armer bowled a short pitch delivery, and Livingstone rocked back to smack the ball over deep mid-wicket that landed in an area where construction work was going on. The on-air commentators were heard saying: “How on earth do you find the ball in the middle of all that?”

Courtesy of Livingstone’s impactful batting, the Dane Vilas-led Lancashire posted a big total of 219/6 in 20 overs. In response, the Derbyshire managed to reach 202/5, to lose the contest by 17 runs. It was a third win for the Lancashire as they are currently sitting at the top of the points table of North Group with three victories out of their total four matches.

Notably, Livingstone is known for hitting the balls deep into stands. He had a great season with the bat for Punjab Kings (PBKS) in the recently-completed Indian Premier League (IPL) 2022. The 28-year-old had scored 427 runs in 14 games at a breathtaking strike rate of 182.08.
