Former Pakistan spinner Danish Kaneria has joined the growing list of experts who rate emerging Indian pacer Arshdeep Singh with a bright future for Team India.

Many have already backed Arshdeep to be in the India squad for the upcoming T20 World Cup in Australia, and the latest to join the bandwagon is Kaneria. The former Pakistan spinner has even suggested that the 23-year-old pacer could be a fantastic option for the ‘Men in Blue’ in the upcoming T20 World Cup as well as the Asia Cup.

Notably, Arshdeep has impressed one and all with his sensational consistency in the Indian Premier League (IPL) for Punjab Kings (PBKS). No wonder his performances in the cash-rich league helped him get a spot in the Indian squad for the Ireland tour and the first T20I against England.

In his debut game in Southampton, the left-arm pacer recorded figures of 2 for 18 in 3.3 overs, including a maiden. However, his non-selection in the recently-concluded second ODI against West Indies left many fans unhappy as India opted for Avesh Khan.

Kaneria reckoned that Arshdeep could be a valuable asset for India in the 20-over showpiece event and the Asia Cup. The former leg-spinner also predicted that Arshdeep would be in the lineup for the third ODI against West Indies.

“Mark my words. Arshdeep will play the third ODI and make an impact too. Arshdeep has the art, and he uses his mind while bowling. He bowls sensibly and knows how to take wickets,” said Kaneria on his YouTube channel.

“He can be a fantastic option for the Indian team for T20 World Cup and maybe for Asia Cup as well. Asia Cup will be held in Dubai, and he can be successful being a left-arm pacer,” Kaneria added.
