Team India’s regular skipper Rohit Sharma, who missed out on the ongoing Test match against England after being tested positive for Covid-19, will return to lead the Men in Blue in the three-match T20I and ODI series.
India’s white-ball leg of the England tour will start with the first of the three T20Is on July 7.
Left-hand opening batter Shikhar Dhawan, who last represented India in February during the West Indies ODIs, has been included in the ODI squad.
All the 17 players, who were picked for the recently concluded Ireland series, will be a part of the Indian squad for the first T20I in Southampton, with Rohit being the only addition to the set-up.
For the second and third T20Is, regular campaigners – Virat Kohli, Shreyas Iyer, Rishabh Pant, Ravindra Jadeja and Jasprit Bumrah – have been selected.
Meanwhile, Hardik Pandya – who led Team India against the Irish – along with Suryakumar Yadav, Deepak Hooda, Ishan Kishan, Dinesh Karthik, Yuzvendra Chahal, Axar Patel, Ravi Bishnoi, Bhuvneshwar Kumar, Avesh Khan, Harshal Patel and Umran Malik have all been retained.
Left-arm seamer Arshdeep Singh has received his maiden call-up for the ODIs.
