Asia Cup 2022 kickstarted on August 27 with the first match between Sri Lanka and Afghanistan. The Afghan captain Mohammad Nabi won the toss and opted to field first.

Defending champions India will begin their campaign with the clash against their arch rivals Pakistan on Sunday, August 28.

The continental event featuring 6 teams is divided into two groups (A & B). In their respective groups, the teams will be competing each other once. The top two sides from each group will advance to the Super 4 stage, where all the four teams will be playing against each other once.

The top two sides from Super 4 stage will then advance to the grand finale that is scheduled to take place in Dubai on September 11.
