England will tour Pakistan in September 2022 after 17 years to play seven T20Is, with a three-match Test series to follow in December, the Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) has confirmed.
The 20-over leg begins on September 20 in Karachi, where both sides will play the first four games before they head to Lahore for the last three T20Is.
“We are absolutely delighted to confirm hosting England for seven T20Is in Karachi and Lahore as a curtain-raiser to a busy, entertaining and exciting season of home internationals,” Zakir Khan, PCB director of international cricket, said in a statement.
“England is one of the top-ranked T20I teams and them playing the shortest format in the lead up to the ICC Men’s T20 World Cup in Pakistan will not only help the team management to finalise their preparations, but will also set the tone for December’s three-Test series,” he added.
England had pulled out of their Pakistan tour last year soon after New Zealand abandoned their itinerary for the South Asian country over security concerns.
