Notably, the RPSG group had bought the Durban-based franchise in the forthcoming South African T20 tournament, and they have now unveiled the names of the marquee players.

The LSG owners have roped in five players in the form of Quinton de Kock, Jason Holder, Kyle Mayers, Reece Topley and uncapped Prenelan Subrayen. Not to mention, De Kock, Holder and Mayers were part of the Super Giants team that made their debut in IPL 2022.

“I welcome all the players to the RPSG Durban family. It’s a new beginning, full of hope and promise. We are confident that the talented players will add to the foundation of the team and will uphold our core philosophy of performance,” said RPSG chairman Sanjiv Goenka in a media release.

According to the rules and regulations of the CSA T20 League, each of the six franchises gets to sign five players featuring three overseas, one South African international cricketer and one uncapped South African player before the auction takes place.

Notably, all six teams in South Africa’s T20 competition have been brought by IPL franchises. Apart from the RPSG group, who owns Durban, the other team owners are Chennai Super Kings (Johannesburg), Mumbai Indians (Cape Town), and Sunrisers Hyderabad (Gqeberha), Rajasthan Royals (Paarl) and Delhi Capitals (Pretoria).

Recently, MI Cape Town, owned by Reliance Industries Limited, had revealed they have signed up the likes of Rashid Khan, Liam Livingstone, Sam Curran, Kagiso Rabada and Dewald Brevis.
