The Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI), on Monday, announced the India Men’s squad for the upcoming T20 World Cup 2022, scheduled to take place in Australia from October 16 to November 13.

The likes of Jasprit Bumrah, Ravichandran Ashwin and Harshal Patel have made it to India’s 15-member squad. However, the Rohit Sharma-led squad will be without star all-rounder Ravindra Jadeja, who recently underwent surgery on his injured right knee. The apex Indian board have filled in Axar Patel as a like-for-like replacement for Jadeja.

Rishabh Pant and Dinesh Karthik both have been named in the squad for the multi-team event. Young pacer Arshdeep Singh, who impressed one and all with his bowling in the Asia Cup 2022, has also made it to the T20 World Cup outfit.

Mohammed Shami, Ravi Bishnoi, Shreyas Iyer and Deepak Chahar have been picked as standby players for the 20-over global showpiece event.

Rohit Sharma (Captain), KL Rahul (vice-captain), Virat Kohli, Suryakumar Yadav, Deepak Hooda, Rishabh Pant (wicket-keeper), Dinesh Karthik (wicket-keeper), Hardik Pandya, R. Ashwin, Yuzvendra Chahal, Axar Patel, Jasprit Bumrah, Bhuvneshwar Kumar, Harshal Patel, Arshdeep Singh.

Standby players: Mohammed Shami, Shreyas Iyer, Ravi Bishnoi, Deepak Chahar.

Further, the BCCI has also announced squads for the home T20I series against Australia and South Africa. Notably, Australia will play three T20Is at Mohali (September 20), Nagpur (September 23) and Hyderabad (September 25). Similarly, South Africa will start their tour with T20Is at Thiruvananthapuram (September 28), Guwahati (October 2) and Indore (October 4). The Proteas will also play a three-match ODI series, the squad for which will be announced in due course.
