England and Wales Cricket Board (ECB) have announced their men’s squad for the upcoming T20 World Cup 2022, which is set to take place in Australia from October 16 to November 13.

Star all-rounder Ben Stokes has returned to the 15-member squad along with the pace duo of Chris Woakes and Mark Wood. The same squad will also face Australia in the three-match T20I series in October, right before the multi-team tournament.

Stokes, Wood and Woakes have not played a single T20 contest this year – international or domestic – because of either injury or rotation.

The notable absentee from England’s outfit is explosive opener Jason Roy, who has been dropped and replaced by Lancashire’s opening batter, Phil Salt. England have also named three reserves in the form of Tymal Mills, Liam Dawson and Richard Gleeson.

Further, the apex English board has also announced a 19-member squad for the Pakistan tour – England’s first visit to the country since 2005 – will be led by Jos Buttler. Though, Moeen Ali will captain the side in the initial matches while Buttler recovers from the calf injury that ruled him out of The Hundred.
