Indian cricket legend Gautam Gambhir is celebrating his 41st birthday today (October 14). The cricket fraternity, including former and current players, extended their best wishes to Gambhir.

Notably, Gambhir was the mainstay of the Indian opening order and smashed numerous match-winning knocks. He played a key role in India’s World Cup victory in 2007 and 2011.

Former India all-rounder Suresh Raina led the birthday wishes of Gambhir with a heartwarming note.

“Wishing @GautamGambhir all the love and success on his Birthday today! A true friend and a gracious human being. Happy Birthday brother, have a great day and a fulfilling year ahead,” tweeted Raina.

Cricket legend Sachin Tendulkar also wished Gambhir. He took to Twitter and wrote: “A very happy birthday to you @GautamGambhir Have a splendid year, my friend!”

Former India cricketer Yuvraj Singh, who was the Player of the Tournament in the 2011 World Cup, termed Gambhir a champion while wishing the Delhi-born batter.

“Wishing a very Happy Birthday to my dear brother @GautamGambhir – a champion in every sense! Lots of love GG. Hope to see you soon,” tweeted Yuvraj.

Member of the 2007 T20 World Cup winning team and a dear friend of Gambhir, Irfan Pathan, took to his Twitter handle and wrote a heartening message.

“A man who wears his heart on his sleeves. A man who has a pure heart. A man of his words, my dear friend @GautamGambhir, Wishing you all the happiness on your birthday. #happybirthday,” Irfan tweeted.
