Team India will take on South Africa in the upcoming second T20I at Barsapara Cricket Stadium in Guwahati on Sunday, October 2.

The hosts are leading the three-match series 1-0 after winning the opening match by eight wickets, thanks to brilliant performances by Arshdeep Singh, Deepak Chahar, KL Rahul and Suryakumar Yadav. India will be hoping to grab the victory in the second match as well to seal the series.

On the other hand, South Africa have a do-or-die situation as they need to win the upcoming fixture in order to keep the series alive. For the record, the Proteas haven’t lost a T20I series in India.

Pitch report:

The Barsapara Stadium has so far successfully hosted only four T20 internationals, while one was abandoned due to a wet pitch. Further, a shortened game seems to be on the cards as there is a 40% chance of rain during the contest.

Probable XIs:

India: Rohit Sharma (captain), KL Rahul, Virat Kohli, Suryakumar Yadav, Hardik Pandya, Dinesh Karthik (wk), Axar Patel, Ravichandran Ashwin, Deepak Chahar, Harshal Patel, Arshdeep Singh

South Africa: Temba Bavuma (captain), Quinton de Kock (wk), Rilee Rossouw, Aiden Markram, David Miller, Tristan Stubbs, Wayne Parnell, Keshav Maharaj, Kagiso Rabada, Anrich Nortje, Tabraiz Shamsi

Match Prediction:

Case 1:

  • India wins the toss and bowls first
  • Powerplay score: 30-35
  • South Africa total: 130-140

Case 2:

  • South Africa wins the toss and bowls first
  • Powerplay score: 35-40
  • India total: 140-150

Team batting second to win the contest.
