The Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) is all set to conduct the mini-auction for Indian Premier League (IPL) 2023 in mid-December this year.

The tentative dates for IPL 2023 has been discussed among the franchises who have apparently got the indication from the BCCI/IPL authorities that the cash-rich league is slated to start in the fourth week of March.

Unlike last year, this time the bidding event would last for a single day with less number of players going under the hammer. The salary purse for IPL franchises is likely to increase by INR 5 crore this year. Previously, the salary purse was INR 90 crore.

“The next season of men’s IPL will also go back to the home-and-away format with all the 10 teams playing their home matches at their designated venues,” BCCI President Sourav Ganguly had mentioned in his letter to state associations on September 22.

  • IPL 2023 auction date: December 16
  • Venue: ITC Gardenia hotel, Bengaluru

Meanwhile, Chennai Super Kings (CSK), the four times IPL champion, have the denied reports of trading their star all-rounder Ravindra Jadeja to any other franchise. There have been requests for trading Jadeja from a couple of other teams – Delhi Capitals (DC) and Gujarat Titans (GT) being two of them. But the CSK management has clarified that they have no plans to part ways with the all-rounder, arguably one of the best in modern-day cricket.

The trade/transfer window will remain open till one week before the mini-auction.
