After impressing fans with his phenomenal batting performances on the cricket field, Team India opener Shikhar Dhawan is all set to make his Bollywood debut with the upcoming film Double XL.

A new still from the movie showing Shikhar downing a black suit and his trademark haircut, dancing with Huma Qureshi – wearing a red gown, has gone viral on social media.

Directed by Satramm Raman, Double XL is touted to be a humorous and heartwarming whirlwind adventure into the hearts of two plus-sized women – sports presenter Rajshree Trivedi (Huma Qureshi) from Meerut and fashion designer Saira Khanna (Sonakshi Sinha) from New Delhi – as they navigate through a society full of taboos about weight. It is slated to hit the silver screen on November 4.

Talking about his Bollywood debut, Dhawan said: “As an athlete playing for the nation, life is always very hectic. One of my favourite pastimes is to watch good entertaining films. When this opportunity came to me and I heard the story, it made a deep impact on me. This is a lovely message for the whole society and I hope a lot of young girls and boys will keep pursuing their dreams no matter what.”

Meanwhile, coming back to the sport, after a thumping win over South Africa in the third and last ODI of the three-match series, India clinched the fifth consecutive trophy in this format. On three occasions, Dhawan led the young Indian brigade – against West Indies, Zimbabwe and South Africa.

After his team’s brilliant show on the field, Dhawan gave a glimpse of their celebration inside the locker room. The video showing Men in Blue dancing to the tunes of popular Punjabi song ‘Bolo Tara Ra Ra’ went viral on the internal in no time.
