An unbeaten 82 off 53 from Virat Kohli guided India to a last-ball win over Pakistan in front of 96,000 fans at the Melbourne Cricket Ground (MCG) on Sunday.

A host of India greats took to Twitter immediately after the match to praise Kohli for powering his team to an unthinkable victory.

But it was not just ex-Team India players who appreciated Kohli, his many former foes on the field and current international superstars also lauded him for the majestic knock.

Even cricketer-turned-commentators around the world showered praise for the 33-year-old batter.

‘This is my best innings’

“It is a surreal atmosphere. I have no idea how it happened. Hardik kept telling me keeping believing. I am lost for words. I think when Shaheen bowled, I told Hardik, let’s get him down. I was kind of pumping myself up in the death overs. Standing here feels like it was meant to be. This is my best innings. I will count this innings higher than Mohali one. The crowd has been phenomenal. You guys have supported me and shown so much love. I am very grateful for such support,” said Kohli after the epic run-chase versus Pakistan in Melbourne.
