Ahead of the mini-auction for the sixteenth season of the Indian Premier League (IPL), all ten franchises have revealed the complete list of their retained and released players.

Before the cut-off date and time i.e. 15 November (5 pm IST) for the retention, some of the players were also traded by the IPL franchises. Jason Behrendorff was traded by Royal Challengers Bangalore (RCB) to Mumbai Indians (MI), Lockie Ferguson and Rahmunallah Gurbaz were traded to Kolkata Knight Riders (KKR) from Gujarat Titans (GT). Delhi Capitals (DC) traded Shardul Thakur to KKR for Aman Khan.

The players’ auction for IPL 2023 is scheduled to be held on December 23 in Kochi.

After the retention and release of players, the Kavya Maran-owned Sunrisers Hyderabad are left with the maximum amount of money. They have INR 42.25 crores remaining in their purse.

The 2020 IPL finalist DC have retained their core group and are, therefore, left with the minimum overseas slots. They released just five players from their squad but still have INR 19.45 crore in the pocket.
