IPL 2023: Royal Challengers Bangalore trade Jason Behrendorff to Mumbai Indians

Royal Challengers Bangalore (RCB) have traded their left-arm fast bowler Jason Behrendorff to Mumbai Indians (MI) for the forthcoming season of the Indian Premier League (IPL). The Australian quick was acquired by RCB in the 2022 IPL Auction for a base price of INR 75 lakh.

Behrendorff has previously played for Chennai Super Kings (CSK) in 2021, MI in 2018 and RCB in 2022. He has taken five wickets in as many IPL matches, with the best bowling performance of 2/22.

Behrendorff has made his name in the Australian circuit as a new ball specialist and has 117 wickets in 105 T20 matches. He was handed the T20I cap in India in October 2017. The Aussie seamer took an impressive 4 for 21 in his second game in Guwahati, removing India’s top four of Rohit Sharma, Shikhar Dhawan, Virat Kohli and Manish Pandey.

Meanwhile, the auction for the 2023 edition of the IPL is set to be held in Kochi on December 23. And ahead of the mini-auction, all ten franchises have been asked to submit their list of retained players by November 15.
