India and England are set to cross swords at the Adelaide Oval on Thursday, November 10. The second semifinal of the ICC Men’s T20 World Cup 2022 starts at 6:30 pm local/8:00 am GMT/1:30 pm IST.
Addressing the media, India head coach Rahul Dravid had said that the best playing XI will be picked for the all-important encounter against England. Based on the conditions on offer, there are indications that wrist-spinner Yuzvendra Chahal might be selected ahead of Axar Patel since the Adelaide Oval pitch assist slower bowlers. Chahal has, so far, been relegated to the bench.
On the other hand, England captain Jos Buttler said that he will try his best to spoil the party so that there is no T20 World Cup final between India and Pakistan.
“Look, we certainly don’t want to see an India and Pakistan final. So we will try and do everything we can to make sure that doesn’t happen,” Buttler stated in the pre-match press conference.
“India are a very very strong team. Indian teams have been consistent for a very long time. Naturally so, with the amount of depth and talent they have. There are fantastic players in their lineup,” he added.
Head to head record
India have won 12 of the 22 T20Is played between them, including two of their three games in previous editions of the T20 World Cups.
