Australia completed a 3-0 whitewash over world champions England after thrashing them by 221 runs (DLS method) in the third and last ODI. The hosts successfully defended a mammoth total of 355-5, bundling out Jos Buttler & Co. for just 142 in 31.4 overs.

Leg-spinner Adam Zampa took four wickets for 31, while captain Pat Cummins and his fast bowling partner Sean Abbott grabbed two wickets each.

Earlier, after being put in to bat first, opening batters – Travis Head and David Warner – smashed centuries, guiding Australia to a record total at the iconic Melbourne Cricket Ground (MCG).

Head hit 150 off 130 balls, while Warner scored a 102-ball 106, ending his drought of scoring a hundred in international cricket after 1043 days.
