Team India’s young gun Rishabh Pant was benched for the first four games in the Super 12 stage of the ongoing T20 World Cup 2022. He finally got his chance to play XI against Zimbabwe in place of Dinesh Karthik.
Pant, however, failed to impress with the bat, scoring just three runs off five. Amid a lack of game time, a video has gone viral on social media where Pant can be seen walking near the boundary ropes as some of the fans seated nearby decided to pull his leg. One of the fans can be heard saying in the video: “Bhai Urvashi bula rahi hai.”
This infuriated Pant, and he shouted back, “Toh jaake lele phir,” and walked away.

The video also hasn’t gone down well with some Twitter users as they slammed fans for “this sort of behaviour at the ground.”
Whatever happened between them was amusing for 5 minutes, but this sort of behaviour at the ground mocking the player is ridiculous. https://t.co/26ibzihhGi

If anyone say playing in current times is easy then watch this. The level of mental stress players have to go through is beyond words. https://t.co/vZcAZd4zc6

For context, Pant and Bollywood actress Urvashi Rautela have been hogging the limelight after the latter, in an interview with an entertainment portal, revealed that a certain ‘RP’ had come to meet her in a hotel.
Pant responded via an Instagram story as he wrote, “who lie in interviews” and are “thirsty for fame”. The post soon went viral and sparked a debate on social media.
“It’s funny how people lie in interviews just for some meagre popularity and for hitting the headlines. Sad how some people are so thirsty for fame and name. May God bless them,” Pant wrote. He added hashtags like #merapichachorhoBehen #Jhutkibhilimithotihai.
While the topic has been in the domain for a while, both Pant and Urvashi haven’t made any direct comments on each other.
