Former India captain Virat Kohli is celebrating his 34th birthday today. He shares his birth date with India’s mental conditioning coach Paddy Upton. The duo celebrated their special day by cutting the cake with the Indian contingent in Melbourne, Australia.
“Yeah, we got a cake. Rishabh had it. Just before we came for practice, yes,” revealed India off-spinner Ravichandran Ashwin in the press conference.
The official Twitter handle of BCCI has shared a video of the celebrations, in which Virat and Paddy can be seen cutting the cake. They were joined by Indian players and members of the support staff, including head coach Rahul Dravid.

Virat has been in stunning form in the ICC Men’s T20 World Cup 2022. He is currently averaging 222, having been dismissed only once in the ongoing tournament, that too against the quality pace attack of South Africa. The right-handed batter hit unbeaten half-centuries against Pakistan, Netherlands and Bangladesh.
Virat, who holds the record of being the leading run scorer in the shortest format of the game as well as T20 World Cup matches, is on the verge of breaking Sachin Tendulkar’s record of scoring the highest number of runs for India in ICC events.
India would be hoping that Virat continues his terrific form in the game against Zimbabwe on Sunday, November 6. India will finish at the top of Group 2 and reach the semi-finals if they beat Zimbabwe. A loss, however, will severely hurt their chances of getting into the final four.
