Ishan Kishan smashed the quickest-ever double hundred in ODI cricket, the fourth Indian batter overall to cross the 200-run landmark, in the third and final ODI against Bangladesh at the Zahur Ahmed Chowdhury Stadium in Chattogram on Saturday.

Kishan completed his double century from just 126 deliveries, breaking West Indies’ legend Chris Gayle’s 138-ball record.

Rohit Sharma has three double tons to his name in ODIs, while Sachin Tendulkar, Virender Sehwag, Gayle, Fakhar Zaman and Martin Guptill have hit one double-century each.

Kishan’s 150 off 103 balls is the fastest 150 for India in the 50-overs format. The record was previously held by Sehwag, who raced to that figure in 112 balls against West Indies in 2011.

Kishan, at 24 years 145 days, is also the youngest to score a double ton. He eventually got out after playing a blistering knock of 210 off 131 balls. During his stay in the middle, the left-handed opener slammed 24 fours and 10 sixes. He added 290 runs for the second wicket with centurion Virat Kohli (113 off 91).
