Kuldeep Yadav had a memorable outing on his return to the red-ball squad as he made his presence felt on Day 2 of the ongoing first Test against Bangladesh at Zahur Ahmed Chowdhury Stadium in Chattogram.

Kuldeep first impressed one and all with his brilliant batting and then showed his class with the ball, destroying the Bangladesh batting unit. The Chinaman picked up four wickets while conceding only 33 runs in his 10 overs. Apart from Kuldeep, Mohammed Siraj also sizzled with the ball, taking three wickets for 14 runs in 9 overs as Bangladesh were 133/8 and trailing by 271 runs at stumps on Day 2.

Earlier in the day, India began with their overnight score of 278/6 but lost Shreyas Iyer for 86 in the opening session. Then Kuldeep and Ravichandran Ashwin stitched a 92-run partnership for the eighth wicket, which drove India close to 400. Ashwin fell for 58, and soon after his dismissal, Taijul Islam dismissed Kuldeep for a well-made 40. Umesh Yadav then smashed two gigantic sixes during his unbeaten knock of 15 and took India to 404 in their first innings.
