  • BPL 2023 will begin with Chattogram Challengers taking on Sylhet Strikers at the Sher-e-Bangla stadium in Dhaka.

The 2023 edition of the Bangladesh Premier League (BPL) will kickstart on January 6. A total of seven teams will compete in a double round-robin format, with the top four qualifying for the playoffs.

All 46 matches of the league are split between three cities – Dhaka, Chattogram and Sylhet. The Shere Bangla National Stadium in Dhaka will host the Eliminator, Two Qualifiers and the Final.

Notable overseas players set to take part in BPL 2023 include Faf Du Plessis, Mohammad Rizwan, Shaheen Afridi, Dasun Shanaka, Sikander Raza and Mohammad Nabi. Players from the Bangladesh national team will also participate in the tournament, including Shakib Al Hasan, Mustafizur Rahman, Mehidy Hasan Miraz and Edabot Hossain.

In the last year’s BPL, Comilla Victorians clinched the title for the record third time by defeating Fortune Barishal in a thrilling final.
