The Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) has revealed the full list of players who will go under the hammer at the 2023 Indian Premier League (IPL) auction.
Initially, 369 players were shortlisted by the BCCI out of the total registrations of 991. Later, when the ten franchises requested to add 36 more players, the number went up to 405. Out of them, 273 are Indians and 132 are overseas players (including four from the associate nations).
“A maximum of 87 slots are now available with up to 30 being slotted for overseas players. Rs. 2 crore is the highest reserve price with 19 overseas players choosing to be slotted in the highest bracket. 11 players are on the auction list with a base price of INR 1.5 crore,” the BCCI said in a statement.
“Manish Pandey and Mayank Agarwal are the two Indian players in the list of 20 cricketers with a base price of INR 1 crore.”
Last month, all the IPL franchises announced the list of their retained and released players. Sunrisers Hyderabad have the highest amount left in their purse (Rs 42.25 crore) for the auction, followed by Punjab Kings (Rs 32.20 crore), Lucknow Super Kings (Rs 23.35 crore), Mumbai Indians (Rs 20.55 crore), Chennai Super Kings (Rs 20.45 crore), Delhi Capitals (Rs 19.45 crore), Gujarat Titans (Rs 19.25 crore), Rajasthan Royals (Rs 13.2 crore), Royal Challengers Bangalore (Rs 8.75 crore) and Kolkata Knight Riders (Rs 7.05 crore).
IPL 2023 auction: Date and start time
The mini-auction for IPL 2023 will take place on December 23 in Kochi. The marquee event will start at 2:30 pm IST/ 9:00 am GMT.
