Lionel Messi, considered one of the greatest football players of all time, recently led Argentina to victory in the 2022 FIFA World Cup. His achievement sparked celebrations not only in Argentina but also around the world, including in India.
As a gesture of goodwill, Messi has gifted a signed jersey to Ziva, the seven-year-old daughter of former Indian cricket team’s captain MS Dhoni.
Dhoni’s wife Sakshi Singh Rawat, who controls the official Instagram account of Ziva, has shared the images on the photo-sharing app. The caption of her post reads, “Like father, like daughter! #commonlove #merrychristmas.”
In one of the pictures, one can see Messi’s autograph on the Argentinian jersey. He also wrote “Para Ziva”, which means ‘For Ziva’. The Instagram comment makes it very evident that Ziva inherited her enthusiasm for football and the legendary footballer Messi from her father. Since being shared, the post has amassed more than 2.5 lakh likes.
Dhoni, the Chennai Super Kings (CSK) captain in the Indian Premier League (IPL), is an ardent football lover and has been frequently spotted training with Chennaiyin FC in the Indian Super League (ISL).
A few days ago, Messi also sent an autographed jersey to Jay Shah, the secretary of the Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI). Former India off-spinner Pragyan Ojha took to Instagram to express his gratitude for the gift, sharing his photo with Shah holding the No. 10 jersey.
