In the ongoing Ranji Trophy 2022-23, Ajinkya Rahane, who is leading the Mumbai team, smashed a brilliant double century during an Elite Group B match against Hyderabad at the Bandra Kurla Complex on Wednesday.

Rahane came to bat on Day 1 when Mumbai’s score read 176 for the loss of two wickets in 32.2 overs. From there on, the right-handed batter built a tremendous 206 runs partnership for the third wicket along with Yashasvi Jaiswal, who scored 162 runs from 195 balls with 27 fours and one six.

Rahane had already scored his hundred on an opening day and carried on from where he left off on the second day. After losing Yashasvi, Rahane and Sarfaraz Khan stitched together a brilliant 196-run stand for the fourth wicket to put Mumbai in a commanding position.

Rahane smashed a double hundred and went on to score 204 runs off 261 balls with the help of 26 fours and three sixes. He was dismissed by Tanay Thyagarajan in the 111th over of Mumbai’s innings.
