In the 23rd match of the ongoing Big Bash League (BBL) 2022-23, Melbourne Stars registered a thrilling win over Adelaide Strikers at the Adelaide Oval on Saturday.

Batting first, the Stars posted a massive total of 186/7 in their allotted 20 overs, thanks to a stunning knock by Marcus Stoinis. The all-rounder bludgeoned his way back to top form, crunching 74 from just 35 deliveries, including six sixes to help Stars reach a humungous score.

Apart from Stoinis, opener Joe Clarke also chipped in with a valuable 42 off 32 balls, with the help of five boundaries, including a maximum. For Strikers, Wes Agar picked up three wickets while conceding 27 runs in his quota of 4 overs.

In response, the Strikers managed to take the game to the wire but fell eight runs short of the Stars’ total. Adam Hose (56) and Henry Hunt (49) kept their side in the game, but Stars’ bowlers held their nerves and helped the Men in Green record their second win this season. Liam Hatcher was the pick of the bowlers for Stars as he claimed two wickets while gave away 34 runs in his quota of 4 overs.
