The 26th match of the Big Bash League (BBL) season 12 saw the Hobart Hurricanes take on the Adelaide Strikers at the Bellerive Oval in Hobart. The Strikers won the toss and decided to bat first, hoping to put up a challenging total on the board.

The Adelaide batters got off to a slow start, with the scoreboard reading 37 for the loss of 2 wickets in the first six overs. However, Chris Lynn provided the much-needed impetus to the innings, scoring 87 runs off 58 balls, including nine fours and three sixes. Lynn’s knock helped the Strikers reach 177/6 in their 20 overs.

In response, the Hurricanes got off to a flying start, with their opening batters, Caleb Jewell and Ben McDermott putting on a quickfire partnership of 86 runs. The middle order, led by player of the match Jewell, then took over and guided the team to victory with ease, finishing their innings at 178/3 in 17.2 overs.

The win for the Hurricanes was their fourth in a row, while the Strikers suffered their fourth defeat on the trot.
