The Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI), on Tuesday, announced their men’s updated squad for the upcoming home ODI series against Sri Lanka, starting January 10.

Frontline Indian pacer Jasprit Bumrah is all ready to make his return to international cricket after being declared fit again. Bumrah, who has been out of action since September 2022, was added to the ODI squad for the upcoming three-match series against the Islanders.

Notably, Bumrah’s last appearance for India came against Australia in the T20I series at home before getting sidelined with a stress reaction in his back. He then underwent rehabilitation and missed the T20 World Cup in Australia before being declared fit by the National Cricket Academy (NCA).

Bumrah’s timely return will boost the bowling unit, which already has the likes of Mohammad Shami, Mohammed Siraj, Umran Malik and Arshdeep Singh.

“The All-India Senior Selection Committee has included pacer Jasprit Bumrah in India’s ODI squad for the upcoming Mastercard 3-match ODI series against Sri Lanka. Bumrah was out of cricketing action since September 2022 and was also ruled out of the ICC Men’s T20 World Cup due to a back injury. The pacer has undergone rehabilitation and has been declared fit by the National Cricket Academy (NCA). He will be joining the Team India ODI squad soon,” said BCCI in an official statement.
