Sunrisers Eastern Cape (SEC) co-owner Kavya Maran, who also owns a team in the Indian Premier League (IPL), was elated after her franchise registered their third win in the maiden edition of SA20. SEC defeated Paarl Royals by 5 wickets in a low-scoring encounter.

During the match, Kavya received a marriage proposal from the Proteas cricket fan. After the end of the eighth over of the Royals’ innings, the cameraman shifted his focus towards a spectator who was seen holding a placard that read, “KAVYA MARAN, WILL YOU MARRY ME?” with a heart emoji.

The video was uploaded by SA20’s official Twitter handle on Thursday and since then has gone viral on other social media platforms as well.

Kavya first marked her presence at a cricket ground during the 2018 edition of IPL, when she came to support Sunrisers Hyderabad (SRH) in a match against Kolkata Knight Riders (KKR) at the Rajiv Gandhi International Stadium in Uppal.

She is the daughter of Kalanithi Maran, who is the founder of the Sun TV Network. Apart from being an owner of the T20 franchises, Kavya is reportedly involved with the SUN music and FM radio channels of the Sun TV Network.
