The Indian Premier League (IPL) 2023 will kickstart from March 31, the Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) announced on Friday (February 17).

The tournament will be played across 12 venues: Ahmedabad, Mohali, Lucknow, Hyderabad, Bengaluru, Chennai, Delhi, Kolkata, Jaipur, Mumbai, Guwahati and Dharamsala.

Defending champion Gujarat Titans (GT) will take on Chennai Super Kings (CSK) in the opening game at the Narendra Modi Stadium in Ahmedabad.

There will be 70 league-stage matches, including 18 double-headers. The day games will begin at 3:30 pm IST, while the evening encounters start at 07:30 pm IST.

The last league stage game is scheduled on May 21.

The schedule and venues for the playoffs and final will be announced later. The summit clash of IPL 2023 is lined-up for May 28.

All teams will play seven home and seven away matches.
