Canada registers a convincing win over the USA in ICC Cricket World Cup Qualifier Play-off 2023

In the fourth match of the ICC Cricket World Cup Qualifier Play-off 2023, Canada faced off against the United States of America (USA) at the Wanderers Cricket Ground in Windhoek on March 29 and emerged victorious by 26 runs.

The USA won the toss and elected to bowl first. Canada opened their innings and managed to put up a total of 198 runs as they were bundled out in 49.4 overs. Aaron Johnson was the top scorer for Canada with 47 runs off 52 deliveries. Other notable contributions came from Harsh Thaker with 43 runs and Nicholas Kirton with 35 runs. Saurabh Netravalkar and Ali Khan picked up two wickets each for the USA.

In reply, the USA struggled to chase down the set target and were bowled out for 172 runs in 47.3 overs. Sushant Modani was the top scorer for the team, with 64 runs off 126 deliveries. Nosthush Kenjige contributed 28 runs, but it wasn’t enough to lead the team to victory. Kaleem Sana and Saad Bin Zafar were the most successful bowlers for Canada, picking up three wickets each.

With the win against the USA, Canada currently sits at the top in the ICC Cricket World Cup Qualifier Play-off 2023 points table with two wins in two games. Meanwhile, the USA is on the second spot in the team rankings with just one win in two matches. Notably, the only win for USA came again Namibia in the opening match of the event.
