Afghanistan star Rashid Khan reclaimed the no. 1 T20I bowling position in the latest released ICC rankings. Rashid displaced Sri Lanka’s Wanindu Hasaranga to grab the top spot after his sensational performance in the recently concluded Afghanistan versus Pakistan T20I series. Notably, the leg-spinner led his nation to a historic (2-1) series victory against the Men in Green and picked a wicket each in all three matches.

On the other hand, Rashid’s compatriot Mujeeb Ur Rehman was also rewarded for his bowling against Pakistan and moved from 10th to 8th position. Meanwhile, Afghani pacer Fazalhaq Farooqi‘s five wickets in the series helped him jump 12 places to career–best 3rd spot. As far as Pakistan’s bowlers are concerned, Shadab Khan climbed six places to 12th among bowlers, while Mohammad Wasim rose from 32nd to 23rd position.

Ibrahim Zadran (41st) and Mohammad Nabi (63rd) were major gainers for Afghanistan in the batter’s category. South Africa’s Rilee Rossouw and Reeza Hendricks also moved up to the 6th and 12th spots, respectively. In the meantime, West Indies batter Johnson Charles, after scoring 118 off 46 deliveries in the second T20I match against the Proteas side in Centurion, saw the rise of 92 places to 17th in the list of Men’s T20I Batters Rankings.

In the ODI rankings, Australian spinner Adam Zampa reached the career-best sixth position. Zampa was rewarded following his match-winning four-wicket haul in the third game against India in Chennai. The leg spinner’s teammate and the ‘Player of the Series’ Mitchell Marsh bagged the 51st spot. For India, Rohit Sharma jumped one place to eighth among batters, while Hardik Pandya saw a hike of ten places among bowlers in the recently updated ICC rankings.

Bangladesh skipper Tamim Iqbal (20th), Namibia captain Gerhard Erasmus (36th) and USA player Aaron Jones (49th) are among the other players to advance in ODI rankings.
