Meg Lanning is a renowned Australian cricketer who is regarded as one of the greatest female cricketers of all time.
Lanning was 5 years old when her family moved to Australia from Singapore.
She made her international debut in 2010 against New Zealand.
In 2014, Lanning became the youngest captain (22-year-old) of the Australian team.
Under her leadership, Aussies won the Women’s T20 World Cup in 2014, 2018, 2020, and 2023 as well as the ODI World Cup in 2022.
Lanning won Belinda Clark Award thrice in 2014, 2015 and 2017.
She was the fastest player, male or female, to reach 13 ODI tons in just 76 innings in 2019 before Babar Azam equalled her feat in 2021.
She was named ICC Women’s Cricketer of the Year in 2014 (T20I) and 2015 (ODI).
Lanning has a Bachelor’s degree in Exercise and Health Science from the Australian Catholic University.
