Short even scored an unbeaten ton in the season and was adjudged ‘Player of the Tournament’.
The 27-year-old is also a handy off-spinner.
He took 11 wickets in the recently concluded BBL at an economy of 7.13.
Apart from T20 cricket, Short plays for his home state Victoria in the domestics.
IPL franchise Punjab Kings (PBKS) roped him in as a replacement for injured Jonny Bairstow.
PBKS will start their IPL 2023 campaign against Kolkata Knight Riders (KKR) on April 1.
