IPL 2023: Star Sports announces star-studded TV commentary panel

The ongoing Women’s Premier League (WPL) is about to end with only two matches, i.e. Eliminator and Final, left to be played. After the completion of the inaugural WPL, all eyes will be on the 16th season of the much-awaited Indian Premier League (IPL), which is all set to begin on March 31.

Four-time champions Chennai Super Kings (CSK) will be taking on last year’s winners, Gujarat Titans (GT), in the opening game of the exciting tournament. Ahead of the eye-catching opening fixture, the official TV broadcasters Star Sports have announced the commentary panel for IPL 2023 in various languages.

The upcoming season of the cash-rich league will get coverage in 9 languages, with some notable commentators. According to reports, the likes of Sunil Gavaskar, Steve Smith, Imran Tahir, Kevin Pietersen, Matthew Hayden, Irfan Pathan, and Virender Sehwag will be the major names available for the commentary, while Ravi Shastri and Harsha Bhogle will be unavailable.

The English commentary team features Gavaskar, Jacques Kallis, Hayden, Pietersen, Danny Morrison, Tom Moody, and England’s first T20 World Cup-winning captain Paul Collingwood amongst others. Similarly, the Hindi commentary panel will have the likes of Sehwag, Irfan, Harbhajan Singh, Tahir, Mithali Raj, and Yusuf Pathan.

Likewise, in the other languages, some prominent names – K Srikkanth, Murali Vijay, Sandeep Patil, MSK Prasad, Amol Muzumdar, S Sreesanth and Gundappa Vishwanath – will be seen entertaining fans with their commentary.
