Brett Lee, Chris Gayle propel the Giants to a comprehensive win over the Maharajas
Despite losing the match, both Harbhajan and Raina had a good outing. While Bhajji returned figures of 1 for 29 in his quota of 4 overs, Raina ended up scoring 49 runs off 41 balls with the help of two fours and three sixes.
Raina’s knock helped India Maharajas to post 136 for 9 in 20 overs after Aaron Finch-led World Giants won the toss and opted to bowl first. Veteran pacer Brett Lee was the pick of the bowler for the Giants, bagging three wickets while conceding 18 runs. Similarly, Chris Mpofu and Tino Best also scalped two wickets apiece.
In response, the Giants gunned down the target in 18.4 overs, courtesy of Chris Gayle’s brilliant half-century. The ‘Universe Boss’ smashed 57 off 46 balls, including 9 fours and a maximum. Apart from Gayle, all-rounder Shane Watson also shined with the bat, smashing 26 off 16, featuring five boundaries.
