South Africa will take on West Indies in the third and final game of the ongoing 3-match T20I series at the Wanderers Stadium in Johannesburg on Tuesday, March 28.

The series is currently even as the hosts bounced back and won the record-breaking second T20I. Notably, after grabbing the win in the series opener, the Caribbean side went on to post 258 courtesy of Johnson Charles‘ blitzkrieg 39-ball century.

However, Proteas opener Quinton de Kock put up a scintillating show, smacking a breathtaking hundred off 44 balls that helped South Africa snatch the game away and set up a series decider with the tourists.

Pitch report:

The surface at Wanderers Stadium is generally considered to be fast and bouncy, with plenty of assistance for the pacers. Batters also can take some advantage, especially in the early stages when the ball is new. However, as the match progresses, the pitch tends to get slower, which makes spinners come into play.

Probable XIs:

South Africa: Quinton de Kock (wk), Reeza Hendricks, Rilee Rossouw, Aiden Markram (c), David Miller, Heinrich Klaasen, Marco Jansen, Wayne Parnell, Sisanda Magala, Kagiso Rabada, Tabraiz Shamsi

West Indies: Kyle Mayers, Brandon King, Johnson Charles, Nicholas Pooran (wk), Rovman Powell (c), Jason Holder, Raymon Reifer, Romario Shepherd, Akeal Hosein, Odean Smith, Sheldon Cottrell

Match Prediction:

Case 1

  • South Africa wins the toss and bats first
  • Powerplay score: 45-55
  • South Africa total: 160-170

Case 2

  • West Indies wins the toss and bats first
  • Powerplay score: 40-50
  • West Indies total: 150-160

Team batting first to win the contest.
