The Indian Premier League (IPL) is one of the most popular and lucrative professional T20 cricket leagues in the world. The league is known for its high energy, thrilling performances, and enthusiastic crowds. Since the 16th edition of IPL is just around the corner, the broadcasting team are leaving no stone unturned to promote the event ahead of the opening clash between defending champions Gujarat Titans and Chennai Super Kings on March 31 in Ahmedabad.

When it comes to promoting the IPL, the focus is often on creating excitement and anticipation among fans. Therefore, every year a promo of the league with a unique anthem featuring players or captains of the respective team participating in the IPL is released prior to the start of the tournament. Something similar happened this year too, as Star Sports on Wednesday (March 8) unveiled the first promo of the IPL 2023.

The promo released features three captains from the league, namely, Rohit Sharma (Mumbai Indians), Hardik Pandya (Gujarat Titans) and KL Rahul (Lucknow Super Giants). The video shows the excitement among fans for the league and how they celebrate it like a festival.

Star Sports shared the same on their official Twitter handle and captioned it: “#IPLonStar is returning and we just can’t keep calm! Get together with your friends and family, switch TVs on and get your #ShorOn, because your shor is what gets the #GameOn!Watch Tata IPL LIVE on the Star Sports Network. #TATAIPL2023 #BetterTogether #Cricket”

A total of 10 teams would take part in the tournament for the coveted trophy, and around 70 league stage matches will be played in IPL 2023 across 12 venues. This edition of the league will also witness the restoration of the home and away format, with teams playing as many as seven matches in front of the home crowd.
