The Delhi Capitals (DC) have secured their place in the playoffs of the Women’s Premier League (WPL) 2023, marking their qualification in the inaugural edition of the tournament. To celebrate this milestone, the team opted for a typical Bollywood-style celebration.

In a Twitter video shared by DC, the players can be seen dancing to the tunes of a popular Bollywood song with the lyrics ‘woh ladki jo sabse alag hai’ (the girl who is different from everyone else).

During the celebration, it was the Australian Women’s and DC captain, Meg Lanning, who caught everyone’s attention. The video clip shared by DC showed Lanning performing the iconic pose of the ‘King of Bollywood’, Shah Rukh Khan.

While the rest of the DC team danced to the ‘Baadshah’ film song, Lanning’s portrayal of the signature open-arm pose made her the star of the show. Fans on the internet were thrilled to see their favorite sport and Bollywood combined in such a fun and celebratory way.

It is worth noting that DC became the second team, after the Mumbai Indians (MI), to secure a spot in the 2023 WPL playoffs. Having played seven matches so far, DC has won five of them and currently are the top of the table with 10 points at a net run rate of +1.978.

Meanwhile, DC’s celebration of their entry into the playoffs with a Bollywood-style dance emphasizes the cultural diversity of India and highlights the shared passion for both cricket and cinema. It also showcases the camaraderie among the players who come from different parts of the world, united by their love for the game. DC’s success in the WPL 2023 has brought immense joy to their fans and has added to the overall excitement of the league.
