Royal Challengers Bangalore (RCB) locked horns with Delhi Capitals (DC) in match no. 11 of the Women’s Premier League (WPL) 2023 at the DY Patil Sports Academy in Mumbai on Monday (March 10) and faced a close defeat by six wickets in a last over thriller.

Asked to bat first, RCB put up a competitive total of 150/4 in their 20 overs courtesy of an impressive knock by Ellyse Perry, who scored 67 off 52 balls. Richa Ghosh also contributed with a quickfire 37 off just 16 deliveries. Meanwhile, Shikha Pandey was the pick of the bowlers for DC as she took three wickets for 23 runs, while Tara Norris chipped in with one scalp for 25 runs. Apart from exceptional bowling performance, Shikha also took a stunning catch of Norris’ delivery to remove Heather Knight.

On the fourth ball of the 13th over, Knight tried to smash Norris for a boundary but was caught by Shikha, who pulled off a stunner at short fine diving towards her left. DC players were thrilled by the effort and celebrated the dismissal, while Knight was shocked.
