• RCB defeated KKR in both matches of IPL 2023.

  • RCB's stand-in skipper Virat Kohli scored a brilliant half-century in the recent encounter.

Fact Check: Rinku Singh touches Virat Kohli’s feet after KKR’s win over RCB? Here’s the truth behind viral claim

Kolkata Knight Riders (RCB) managed to break their four-match losing streak as they emerged victorious against Royal Challengers Bangalore (RCB) by 21 runs in a game played away from home. The win gave KKR two important points, which could be critical in their bid to qualify for the playoffs. KKR’s victory was spearheaded by Rinku Singh, who played a vital role in the end overs of the game. Rinku smashed three boundaries off Mohammed Siraj and took some excellent catches that contributed to KKR’s win.

For RCB, their stand-in captain Virat Kohli put in a spirited performance, scoring a half-century during the chase. However, his efforts were not enough to get the home team over the line, and they ended up losing the game by a significant margin. KKR’s win was crucial, as it pushed them up in the points table and kept their hopes of qualifying for the playoffs alive.

After the match, a picture emerged on social media that showed Rinku Singh touching Kohli’s feet during the post-match handshake. Fans loved the gesture and made it viral on the internet.

However, the picture is not real and was modified or morphed using some web applications.

There’s no video clip of Rinku touching Kohli’s feet to confirm the authenticity of the image.

Meanwhile, the win against RCB would have come as a relief to the KKR team, who had been struggling in the tournament until then. The victory would have also boosted their morale and given them much-needed confidence going forward. KKR will now be looking to build on this win and continue their momentum in the remaining games of IPL 2023.
