Here’s the list of 5 youngest captains in the history of IPL:

5) Rishabh Pant (23 years & 144 days)

Rishabh Pant was appointed the captain of Delhi Capitals in the 2021 IPL season.

He replaced injured Shreyas Iyer to step into the skipper’s role.

4) Shreyas Iyer (23 years & 141 Days)

Shreyas Iyer was announced as the captain of Delhi Daredevils in 2018.

The Mumbai cricketer replaced Gautam Gambhir, who stepped down from the post.

3) Suresh Raina (23 years & 112 days)

Suresh Raina first joined the leadership group in 2008 when he led the Chennai Super Kings (CSK) in MS Dhoni’s absence

Later, he also donned the hat of full time captain for Gujarat Lions franchise.

2) Steve Smith (22 years, 11 months & 9 days)

The Aussie cricketer was stand-in skipper for Pune Warriors in a match against Royal Challengers Bangalore.

Smith got the opportunity in 2011 IPL season when Sourav Ganguly rested himself in a match.

1) Virat Kohli (22 years, 4 months & 6 days)

Virat Kohli is the youngest ever captain in IPL history.

Kohli captained the RCB in three games replacing injured Daniel Vettori in 2011.
