Veteran Indian fast bowler Ishant Sharma had a memorable outing in the ongoing clash between Delhi Capitals (DC) and Kolkata Knight Riders (KKR) at Arun Jaitley Stadium.

Ishant made his comeback in the cash-rich league after 717 days and made his presence felt with an outstanding spell of bowling. The lanky pacer came into the side for the first time since 2021 when he played three matches for the Capitals. He last played regularly in the 2019 season, bagging 13 wickets in 13 matches for DC.

In his comeback game, the right-arm pacer returned with impressive figures, leading DC’s bowling attack from the front. The Delhi-lad picked up two wickets in the game, including the prized scalp of KKR skipper Nitish Rana. Ishant conceded 19 runs in his quota of 4 overs. He was replaced by Prithvi Shaw as an impact player.

Earlier, the game was delayed for an hour due to rain, and when the two captains conducted the toss, DC skipper David Warner won it and opted to bowl first. The decision went completely in the home team’s favour as the Knight Riders’ batting attack was completely destroyed by DC bowlers.
